This project is proposed to provide support to the implementation of the national project on OneLab® and to provide needed resources to DOST Visayas RSTL’s operations and plans for CY 2023 based on its crafted Five-Year Roadmap 2022-2026. This roadmap was established to map out DOST Visayas RSTL 5-year strategic plan not only to enhance its services but also to align with the OneLab® national direction of RSTLs’ identified core functions to include testing and calibration, technical training provider and provide support to the research, development, and innovation (RDI). In this project, DOST Visayas RSTL shall sustain its testing and calibration services while maintaining its laboratory quality management system under the ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and its laboratory information management system. It will also endeavor to strengthen DOST Visayas RSTL’s linkage with different laboratories in the region through the establishment of a laboratory network and implement collaborative activities in human resource development. The project will continue to strengthen its laboratory information management system including IT-based referral system (ULIMS) for ease of referring samples to OneLab® network members and more particularly in the region, with PSTOs as sample receiving stations. To complement ULIMS, this project will develop an online portal for other RSTL services for an enhanced customer service. The project shall also undertake R&D activities to provide technical assistance in establishing quality characteristics of muscovado sugar in the region.
