In Visayas, there are few ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories that offer calibration and testing services which is a requirement for some government regulating agencies. Because the food industry in the country is expected to grow in the next five years, needed tests in the future are also relevant to the food quality control and assurance. Based on the recent survey conducted by the DOST Regional Standards and Testing Laboratories (RSTL), respondents are looking forward to market expansion on a national scale even to international market. In fact, customers are interested in product development and improvement in aid of market expansion. With this, there is a need to continue the services of RSTLs and even offer additional services to cater to the growing demands of the customers.

General Objective: To strengthen the laboratory and testing services sector in the Visayas Cluster regions.
Specific Objectives:
1. To assist regional laboratories comply with government accreditation requirements.
2. To rationalize the services of the RSTLs
3. To strengthen the OneLab referral system in the Visayas Cluster regions.
4. To provide testing and calibration services to customers in the Visayas Cluster regions.
5. To strengthen the collaboration between Visayas Cluster RSTLs
This component aims to improve the collaboration between the RSTLs of the Visayas cluster through sharing of laboratory testing and calibration services and resources. This includes improvement of the sample referral system between laboratories as well as organizing seminars, trainings or mentoring RSTL laboratory personnel from the cluster.
